Employers Liability Insurance

It is often the case that landlords employ sub contractors or rely on the services of caretakers, cleaners and gardeners amongst others to continue the upkeep and maintenance of a property or properties. In this situation, any business is required by law to have Employers Liability cover. The statutory minimum required is £5m and most insurance policies meet this requirement.

The purpose of this type of insurance is to provide legal liability to direct and indirect employees for death and bodily injury.

For some landlords who run their property portfolio as a part-time business this may be a useful optional extra as they may already have a full time job and therefore do not necessarily have business insurances.
